The project involved creating a useable basement, extension of the ground floor shop and creation of two new self contained flats at first and second floor. Underpinning was required of the party walls and tanking the basement to make it useable as retail retail / storage space, extend the floor to cover the entire site area, demolish the first floor and rebuild two stories as two self contained flats. The project was challenging in all sense of the phrase, temporary propping was required to the neighbouring buildings as the site was part of a terrace, a new steel frame was inserted into the tight site from cellar level all the way up to the second floor. All external walls were rebuilt and new floors installed at all levels. At completion a high quality set of residential properties were successfully delivered and a desirable retail unit all of which were rented immediately. Overall the project was successfully completed despite the many challenges along the way. Our firm would be happy to provide any building work references for Edgware Builders if approached.
